Why The Butterfly?

I’ve chosen a butterfly as the symbol of Operation Transformation because it is a powerful image of change. For me, the butterfly represents our ability to transform into the beautiful person that we were made to be. While we are caterpillar’s crawling in the dirt, it’s difficult to even begin to grasp that we can soar in the sky. I call you to believe. Believe that you can be a world changer, a transformer.

    Re: Twilight vs. Hunger Games.
I haven’t read Hunger Games, but I’ve made similar comparisons with Twilight and the Maximum Ride series, which has a strong female leader as a main character. Really easy reading, my sons loved them.

Im just curious what the Maximum Ride series is about? I have this thing for reading the series my teen daughter wants to read before she does. Does this make me a control freak or a concerned mother. After I let her read Twilight she had to write a poem in her ;language class (6th grade) needless to say I was called to the school due my daughters overly well written poem about Vampire love and sexuality, Im not trying to shelter her but how do we tell them its ok to read something and then try punish them for their brilliant mind because someone else doesnt approve.

I read all the books my kids read too, usually before they read them. When my oldest wanted to read Twilight, I read it first and then we discussed it as she read it. She ended up quitting part way through because we both didn’t like the way that Bella was so codependent. My daughter just didn’t identify with her. She liked Alice :) I haven’t read Maximum Ride series yet.
